4 Ways To Keep Your Sanity During Covid-19

This has been a wild ride for all of us and we know that, at times, it can be very challenging to keep your sanity through the muck of it. However, it IS possible to have great mental health even in the time of a pandemic especially if you work the steps.

Here are 4 ways to keep your body, mind and spirit healthy during Covid-19

Don’t be a Karen.

Don’t freak out when you don’t see hand sanitizer on shelves. Don’t fight anyone over toilet paper. You’re better than that. Remember this – doctors swear that soap and water is better than hand sanitizer… and while it may not be as easy to stop, wash your hands and carry on, if you have to – you can. In fact, it has a better chance of killing the germs you fear. If you have to, you can replace toilet tissue with washcloths. Simply wash them on hot.

But be a Karen, if you need to be.

Social distance reporting is that little thing people are afraid to talk about. If you know there is a serious outbreak in your area, social distance reporting can help restore order and ensure that the places you also frequent aren’t over crowded. No one has to know it was you. No one will. Simply turn over the info and know you did a good thing for yourself and others.

See a therapist.

If you already saw a therapist… don’t neglect your appointments. If you are feeling on edge, use a telehealth company to help you cope. You deserve to feel safe, secure and at peace. If you cannot afford therapy, try an online forum like Reddit where you can talk to others about how you feel. It is always good to have a place to go vent.

Say “no” and don’t feel bad for it.

If you are getting invites to go out and you aren’t comfortable yet. Learn to say “no.” People pleasing will only make you feel worse and give you more anxiety. If you want to get out, however, do. Don’t be a hermit. Either way, stay in contact with friends even if it requires technology only.

From social distance reporting to simply saying “no”, it is possible to keep your sanity… even through a pandemic. We promise you will get through this. Everything is gonna be ok and you can take that to the bank.
