The racing bike is the bike designed to go strong, for competitions or simply for pleasure, but still strong. The shape of the frame (often made of carbon fiber) of the racing bike is the classic diamond, the very unbalanced driving position towards the handlebars.
The racing bend with a classic curved backwards shape (which allows you to hold your hands in three different positions) covered by tape, long ratios, 28 inches wheels with smooth and narrow covers, with 23 or 25mm sections. The brakes are the classic pivoting gauges with skates that work on the rim post.
A cycle touring bicycle must be able to travel long distances often carrying a fair amount of bags and luggage. There are essentially two types of cycle touring bikes: one that is more suitable for roads, with 28 inches wheels (1st photo), and the other designed for dirt tracks and steep slopes, with a more compact frame, 26 inches wheels and more robust covers.
In Mountain Biking in Tasmania, the choice of the saddle is very important since the component on which one is sitting most of the day. Accessories for a travel bike are a sturdy luggage rack for bags (possibly also front), butterfly handlebars (to fix odometer, gps and other instruments and to change driving position), mudguards and at least two bottle holders.
Generally speaking, hybrid means a bike halfway between the racing bike, of which it retains the shape of the frame, and the bicycle touring one, from which it inherits the intermediate covers and a more relaxed driving position. However the name hybrid may indicate different types of mixtures between types of bikes.
The fixed gear bike has the particularity of having a single ratio and does not present the free wheel system, with the rear wheel hub that rotates in a way that is integral to the wheel. This results in the impossibility of pedaling backwards and having to force the legs by interrupting the pedaling to brake.
Designed for use mainly on the racetrack, in the last decade the snap bikes have become a real trend, in particular after having been chosen for the pedal deliveries of the first New York messenger bikes.
Unlike Mountain Biking in Tasmania, the foldable bike stands out most of the time for wheels of size 16, 20 or 24 inches and for the possibility of being folded thanks to a mechanism on the oblique tube. Mainly thought for urban use, with or without gear, they have the great advantage of combining with public transport by being able to travel, by fold, on buses, metro and trains for free.
