Reminders For Your Beginner TRX Workout

Beginners may find the beginner TRX workout difficult or awkward to use. It’s normal to feel this way when you’re just starting out. Your body will quickly adjust to the suspension training as you put more time in. Don’t give up right away because your efforts will be rewarded. Get familiar with the straps, especially the adjustment points. You will use these frequently as you go through different exercises. Getting the right length will make a world of difference in comfort and resistance. You should also keep the following in mind:

Ensure Clearance from the Walls

Before you start with your beginner TRX workout, you need to make sure that you have enough clearance from the walls of your room with the straps fully extended. If you are going to hit your head, your arms, or your feet on any wall, then adjust the strap length or see if there are better spots on the room. You should also clear out all of the clutter that you can bump into. The floor should be completely clear.

Eliminate Slack by Adjusting Position

Test the straps to see if there is any slack when you lean against it. For example, your bicep curls might feel fully extended with the straps taut when you go down for the rep but there may be some play when you go up. You can either step back or shorten the straps to remedy the situation. Whenever starting an exercise, always make this assessment to get good results from your workouts.

Warm-up with the Straps Before Workout

Don’t shock your body into exercise first thing in the morning. The muscles need to warm up to prevent injuries and you have to wake up to reduce the brain fog. You can perform your regular warm-up routine while holding onto the TRX handles for better balance. You should also be able to go deeper into stretches. Pay attention to the muscles that you plan on targeting for you workout. If it’s a leg day, then focus on the lower body and so on.

Mind Your Form and Look Up at the Mount

It would be great if you can put a large mirror in your workout area. A full-body mirror like the type used to check your outfit in the morning is good enough in the absence of a mirror wall like those in the gyms. The important thing is that you can always check your form and keep the alignment steady. Your eyes should also look at the mount.
