Many men want to become a male model, but they don’t know how to go about it. The good news is there are a few tips that can help you get one step closer to becoming a model. If you want to find out what these tips are, then continue to read on.
Put Together Your Portfolio
The first thing you want to do is put together your portfolio, regardless if you have any modeling experience or no modeling experience. A portfolio is a marketing tool that agencies, directors and others see. You can either create a portfolio on your own and take your own photos or use a professional photographer who can put together your portfolio.
Hire a professional. They will make sure the photos look good and they will give you a portfolio you’ll be proud to show off.
Get Exposure
You need to get exposure, and you can’t expect people to flock to you with contracts in hand. Work slowly by building up a following on social media. You don’t need thousands and thousands of followers, as a few hundred on one site and a few hundred on another site can go a long way. Generally speaking, focus on building a following on Facebook, Twitter and especially Instagram.
Post regularly, request friends and accept people’s requests. As time goes by, you could very well be scouted or offered modelling jobs. Also, tag modelling agencies in a few photos and posts.
Send Applications To Agencies & Casting Calls
You want to land modeling jobs, and the only way to do that is to put yourself out there via applications to modeling agencies and casting calls. As a general rule of thumb, you should send applications to 2-3 agencies per week. As for casting calls, try to apply for at least 1-2 calls per day or show up to open calls 1-2 times per week.
Just make sure you’re not sending applications or going to calls that are scams. Do a bit of research before doing anything.
Be Patient & Persistent
Be patient and persistent. Be prepared to hear no a lot and to be rejected by many agencies and casting call directors. If you’re persistent, eventually you’ll hear yes and you’ll be well on your way to becoming a model.
Being patient, persistent, sending applications to casting calls and agencies can go a long way. So can gaining exposure via social media and putting together a professional portfolio. If you do all of those things, you’ll be taking a giant step forward towards achieving your dream of becoming a male model.
