Ways To Determine Golf Club Loft Degree

The golf club loft degrees, which is the angle of the clubface relative to the shaft, determine how high the ball goes. The higher the loft, the higher the ball will go. Lofts of individual clubs are relatively the same, but there is a variation amongst manufacturers. If you want to know if the lofts on your clubs are correct, there are various ways by which one can determine this.
Buy a gauge or golf protractor. While some can be expensive, some are available devices at fairer prices. Place the clubface on the base of the gauge like you are grounding the club behind the ball in line with the shot.
Place the shaft into the side of the device, which is attached to it. Before locking the vice, square the clubface on the base. Although gauges come with different mechanisms, almost all contain a straightedge that slides against the clubface and makes it square.

Proceed to lock the shaft into the device by rotating the wheel in a clockwise motion. Ensure that the clubface is square and if it is not, retighten the mechanism. To do this, you will have to loosen the device first and realign the club again.

Place the protractor at the centre of the clubface and turn it clockwise. This locks the protractor against the clubface. For this to happen, the protractor has to contain a locking vice. Proceed to read the number that shows at the top of the protractor. Key to note is that there is no definitive number for each club. Every single swing varies, meaning every swing requires different needs of the loft.

When it comes to drivers, the degree varies from person to person. A slow swing speed to hit up the ball requires a higher lofted driver. A fast swing on the ball will require a lower one to provide more distance and to maintain a launch angle.

You also need to pick the loft of the driver based on your skills, as this will maximize your distance. Most of the drivers have a range of four to twenty degrees, and you need to pick the right one according to your skills and experience.

These are some ways to determine the golf club loft degrees. The good news is that there is the option of adjusting the loft of the drivers, whether hybrid or fairway, to cater for the particular course.
