Ways To Enhance E-Mail Inbox Security

One of the important things that every user must understand about email is proper e-mail inbox security. Spam and other forms of unwanted messages should never be allowed to penetrate a user’s inbox. The first thing that a spam blocker application does is identify all kinds of spam and then set up filters to block these. Only the mail will need to pass through the spam filters.

The second thing that an effective spam blocker does is that it screens out unsolicited messages before they get into a user’s inbox. The program that does this is called an email filtering application. When an email message is spotted as spam, it will be removed from the user’s inbox. Depending on what kind of spam the user has received, there will be different actions taken. Some messages may be deleted or simply moved off the recipient’s inbox.

It is never a good idea to provide the email address of a sender on a list. This is because spammers can easily misuse an address list to send junk mail to anyone in the database. The sender’s name should always be contained within the body of the message itself. If there is an option for the sender to enter the name and address directly into the message’s body, it should always be done.

The subject line is also a crucial aspect of email message security. It is recommended that the subject line and the body of the message are different from the message itself. For example, if there was an attachment attached to the email message, it is important to include the person’s full name the attachment belongs to. Anytime that a spammer gets his hands on a list of names and addresses, he will send another message containing the same contact information to those people.

It is very important that all outgoing messages have an expiry time. This is because anyone can set up an account with a service provider and enable it to auto-destruct messages that are in their inbox. By setting up a system that will not allow any messages to remain in the account after a certain amount of time has passed, a spammer will be unable to send any more messages.

It is also advisable not to use your emails in the public domain. Likewise, you should make sure that you change your e-mail inbox security (passwords, secret questions, etc.) every few months.
