Because the dark eye color is intensely colored, to artificially change that color to the onlooker is extremely difficult. Enhancement lens are semi-opaque. As the iris color is determined by genetics, it is established after reaching pre-school age. To change dark eye color temporarily, today we have the enhancement contact lens. Still, these lenses only intensify the eye color.
- Opaque lens covers the iris completely, successfully altering eye color. These lenses are effective at completely changing eye color but can limit one’s vision due to the coverage of the imitation eye color. These are ideal for Halloween or similar occasion. All contacts require a prescription even if it is a zero power, not correcting vision.
